Con varios actos, se recordará hoy viernes a los legisladores Zelmar Michelini y Héctor Gutiérrez Ruiz, secuestrados y asesinados en Buenos Aires en 1976, hace 40 años.
Los homenajes comenzaron anoche con un concierto del ciclo «Música por la Vida» en el Salón de los Pasos Perdidos del Palacio Legislativo, que brindó la Orquesta Filarmónica de Montevideo, dirigida por el maestro ruso Yuri Sobolev y el Coro del Sodre, que interpretaron Réquiem de Mozart. Y terminarán esta noche a partir de la hora 19 con la Marcha del Silencio, que se realiza desde hace 21 años desde Rivera y Jackson hasta Plaza Libertad, organizada por Madres y Familiares de Detenidos Desaparecidos. La marcha se hará bajo la consigna «Ellos en Nosotros. Contra la Impunidad de Ayer y de Hoy. Verdad y Justicia». La concentración se cerrará con la entonación del Himno Nacional.
Ayer, cuando los organizadores dieron los detalles de la marcha de este año, remarcaron que se hace en silencio, sin banderas ni consignas partidarias.
En paralelo a la marcha, en la pantalla del IMPO frente a la Intendencia de Montevideo, se emitirán fotografías y nombres de detenidos desaparecidos durante la dictadura militar (1973-1985).
Hoy a la hora 10 la familia Michelini se reunirá frente a la tumba de Zelmar Michelini en el Cementerio Central. En tanto, a la hora 10.30, en el Cementerio del Buceo el Partido Nacional rendirá homenaje a Gutiérrez Ruiz, en un acto en el que hablará el presidente del Directorio blanco, Luis Alberto Heber.
Esta semana, el Correo, junto al Directorio del Partido Nacional y el presidente de la Cámara de Diputados, Gerardo Amarilla, presentaron un matasellos en homenaje a Michelini y Gutiérrez Ruiz.
Michelini, que se inició en política en el Partido Colorado junto Luis Batlle Berres, en 1971 se integró con su lista 99 al Frente Amplio, siendo uno de sus fundadores. Cuando el golpe de Estado del 27 de junio 1973 era senador por la coalición de izquierda. Gutiérrez Ruiz fue diputado del Partido Nacional por el sector Por la Patria que lideraba Wilson Ferreira Aldunate. En el momento de la disolución del Parlamento por parte de los militares, era presidente de la Cámara de Diputados. Ambos se exiliaron en Argentina y el 20 de mayo de 1976 aparecieron asesinados en Buenos Aires junto al matrimonio Rosario Barrero y William Whitelaw, militantes tupamaros también refugiados.
En noviembre de 2006 fueron procesados con prisión el exdictador Juan María Bordaberry y el excanciller de la dictadura Juan Carlos Blanco como autores intelectuales de estos homicidios.
En marzo de 2010 la fiscal Mirtha Guianze solicitó una condena de 30 años de prisión para Bordaberry y para Blanco por los asesinatos de Michelini, Gutiérrez Ruiz, Barredo y Whitelaw en 1976.
Bordaberry falleció en julio de 2011 cumpliendo prisión domiciliaria.
