`Con alegría vivo, combato y muero´. Un pedido de Zelmar. `Que nunca la tristeza se asocie a mi nombre´
Se inauguró ayer la Fundación Zelmar Michelini (FZM), cuyos objetivos son cooperar en la lucha por los DDHH y la construcción de ciudadanía, colaborar en la lucha contra la impunidad, recuperar la memoria histórica e investigar el crimen de uno de los fundadores del Frente Amplio.
El Paraninfo de la Universidad de la República se vio colmado ayer en el lanzamiento de la Fundación que lleva el nombre de uno de los políticos más recordados de la historia de nuestro país.
Los diez hijos de Zelmar compartieron la emotiva ceremonia que contó con la presencia de varios actores políticos, autoridades de gobierno y representantes diplomáticos.
La figura de Zelmar fue recordada por varios representantes de la cultura y de la política de Latinoamérica como un político brillante lúcido y dedicado a la lucha por la libertad.
Entre los asistentes se encontraba la primera dama, María Auxiliadora Delgado; el intendente de Montevideo, Ricardo Ehrlich; los pre candidatos del Frente Amplio Marcos Carámbula y José Mujica; la diputada nacionalista Beatríz Argimón; el ex ministro del Interior Guillermo Stirling; y el músico Daniel Viglietti, entre otros.
El presidente Tabaré Vázquez, la mandataria chilena Michelle Bachelet, Isabel Allende, Mauricio Rosencof, Jorge Larrañaga, José Amorín y Danilo Astori fueron algunos de los que enviaron saludos al novel emprendimiento. Una de las consignas del encuentro fue recordar con alegría al senador asesinado en mayo de 1976.
El propio Zelmar lo pidió en la carta enviada a su hija Elisa en febrero de 1976: «Dos cosas tengo que pedirte (…) La primera es aquel verso que dice: Con alegría vivo, con alegría combato y con alegría muero. Que nunca la tristeza se asocie a mi nombre». La ceremonia fue fiel a tal solicitud, el acto inició con un repertorio clásico interpretado por la Camerata Juvenil del Ministerio de Educación y Cultura y finalizó con la cuerda de tambores de La Figari.
En conversación con LA REPUBLICA, Luis Pedro, el mayor de los hijos, recordó a su padre: «La ceremonia me hizo recordar muchas cosas, pero con alegría. Yo soy el más viejo, el que más convivía con papá. Yo lo viví cuando mi padre era más joven y tenía menos compromisos. Era un hombre alegre, que bromeaba mucho, siempre tenía un consejo para brindar pero andaba volando todo el tiempo, a pesar de eso, le dedicaba un ratito a todo el que se le acercaba».
El trabajo de la Fundación
Cecilia Michelini, directora y presidenta de la Fundación, especificó a este medio los objetivos a corto plazo. «A partir de hoy comenzamos la etapa de consolidación que va a durar todo el año. Va a constar de la difusión de la Fundación en sí misma, a nivel regional e internacional. También se va a continuar con la creación del archivo Zelmar Michelini. Otra tarea que se emprenderá será el trabajo con la escuela Nº 113, que lleva el nombre de mi padre. Este trabajo se extenderá a escuelas de Parque del Plata, donde vivía mamá», indicó.
La Fundación -creada a impulso de la viuda del ex legislador, hoy fallecida- tiene planeado también el dictado de talleres con las ideas de Zelmar.
