VIII encuentro de la Red Latinoamericana de Sitios de Conciencia

La presidenta de la Agrupación de Familiares de Detenidos Desparecidos (AFDD), Lorena Pizarro, el abogado y activista de derechos humanos José Zalaquett y la académica de la Universidad de Chile, Isabel Piper, fueron los encargados de hacer el panel inaugural del VIII encuentro de la Red Latinoamericana de Sitios de Conciencia, que se realizó en Santiago de Chile. Esta Red Latinoamericana, que reúne a las instituciones de la región asociadas a la Coalición Internacional de Sitios de Conciencia, es una red constituida con el propósito de mostrar la historia a través de los sitios; desarrollar programas que estimulen el diálogo acerca de cuestiones sociales prioritarias y que promuevan los valores democráticos; junto con fortalecer el compromiso público con estas temáticas.

En su reunión en Chile la Red, que está integrada por 34 instituciones de Argentina, Brasil, Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, México, Paraguay, Perú, República Dominicana y Uruguay, trabajó en mesas de educación en Derechos Humanos, museografía y narrativa de los sitios de memoria, gestión en sitios de conciencia y acceso y uso de los archivos.

El encuentro organizado conjuntamente por Memoria Abierta de Argentina, el Museo de la Memoria y los Derechos Humanos, la Corporación Parque por la Paz Villa Grimaldi, el Memorial Paine, la Casa Memoria José Domingo Cañas, el Sitio de memoria Estadio Nacional y el Memorial Nido 20; contempló la visita por diferentes sitios de memoria.
